BAT crew Frikkie Botha and Koos Visser stole the show at the RFS 200, round two of the Northern Regions Cross Country Championship, in Harrismith over the weekend.

Botha and Visser finished 10 minutes ahead of Tony Gouveia and Danni van Biljon, in another BAT, to take Special Vehicle and Class P honours. Third overall and third in Class P were veteran former national champion Giel Nel and Ferdie Pieterse in a Zarco Truggy.

The Class B contingent were well off the pace set by the Class P runners with veteran Wolf-Peter Pfumfei (WPP) eventually getting the better of Arend Pretorius and Alexander Murison in a Sandmaster. The pair were the only Class B finishers.

Reigning Donaldson national series champions Dirk Putter and Koos Claasens, in a Ford Ranger, scored their second win of the season in the Production Vehicle category. The result also saw the pair score their second Class E win in a row, with Putter and Claasens well clear of Class D winners Dewald Hattingh and Doep du Preez in a Toyota Hilux.

Hattingh and du Preez were the only Class D finishers with Rob Reid and Bodo Schwegler second in Class E in a Mitsubishi Pajero. Third in Class E and the last of the classified finishers were Reagan Austen and Warren Vos in a Toyota Hilux.
