KWAZULU-NATAL REGIONAL WIN FOR GIBSON/CAMPBELL

Donaldson Cross Country Championship regulars Clint Gibson and Gary Campbell made a strong start to the KwaZulu-Natal regional championship when they won the RFS 200 in Harrismith over the weekend.

The regional event was held in conjunction with the Donaldson Cross Country Championship RFS 450, with Gibson and Campbell (Dirt Sport Components Porter) edging out Arthur Barnes and Anthony Usher in a BAT Venom in KZN Class A. The two crews were separated by around three minutes, with Barnes and Usher having plenty of time in hand over third placed Reg Sutton and Warren Benecke in a Zarco Magnum.

Fourth and fifth went to KZN Class B crews Rob Spencer/Kevin Theron (Zarco Lite) and youngster Gareth Woolridge and Simon Harrison in a Polaris Razor. There was a gap of around three minutes between the two crews with Woolridge and Harrison 40 seconds ahead of Ricky and Lauren Leigh Carter (Zarco Lite) who were seventh overall and fourth in KZN Class A.

Third in KZN Class B were Carl van der Merwe and Mark Olivier in an Aceco. The pair were well clear of fourth and fifth placed Bryant Meyer (Mighty Mag) and Iain Maclean and Lucas van Dort in another Zarco Lite.
