Ford continues unbroken run of podium finishes

•    Visser and Badenhorst claim seventh podium of the season
•    Woolridge and Huxtable complete the rostrum
•    Ford sponsors Bloemfontien based event for the first time
PRETORIA, South Africa, 14 October 2013 –
Ford took second and third place on this weekend’s Ford Dealer 400, the penultimate round of the Donaldson Cross Country Championship, which took place in Thaba ‘Nchu in the Free State.

Ford Racing crews Chris Visser and Japie Badenhorst and Lance Woolridge and Ward Huxtable took second and third place respectively in an event that was characterised by bush fires which disrupted the event. Thankfully organisers were able to reroute the event in order to ensure the safety of the teams.

Visser and Badenhorst again demonstrated their consistency as they claimed their seventh podium finish of the season. A puncture in the first loop slowed their progress initially however they quickly made up the time crossing the line in second place.

“Of course we would have liked a win on a Ford sponsored event however the team once again proved its consistency and we once again had a fantastic car underneath us,” said Visser.

Joining the pair on the podium were teammates Woolridge and Huxtable.

“We were happy to secure fifth place during Friday’s prologue and even happier with our progress on Saturday as we moved up the field to take third place,” said Woolridge.

Team Manager John Nagel was equally impressed with the team’s efforts over the weekend. “This year Ford sponsored the event for the first time and we were pleased to have two Ford’s featuring on the podium. The team did a fantastic job and I would like to thank everyone for their continued efforts in ensuring Ford has featured on the podium in every race this season.”

The final event of the season is the Atlas Copco 400 in Westonaria on November 22 and 23.

Team Ford Racing’s efforts would not be possible without the support of its dedicated sponsors: Time Freight, Castrol, Dynotherm, Sign Solutions, Motorvia and Tiger Wheel &Tyre.
