Team GC Diesel VW Polo ready to tackle the infamous Longmore forest on their home based event, the VW Rally.
Morne Janse van Rensburg and Rikus Fourie armed with their R2 specification VW Polo will be even more pumped for this rally being their home event. Also they will debut the new sequential gearbox eagerly waited for in anticipation. To take it to the next level they will sport the new GC Diesel Racing colours which the whole team hopes to spark some life into their championship hopes.
Heading into Round 4 of 8 of the South African Rally Championship, the Championships are not lost yet but becoming even more important to get the car to the finish as each point is gold at this part of the Championship.
Team GC Diesel is competing in no less than two Championships, the Two-Wheel-Drive (TWD) Championship and also the Super1600 Class Championship.
In the Super1600 class, Morne and Rikus shares 3rd position on 9 points, 6 points adrift of the leader and 9 points up for grabs for a win.
In the TWD Championship the leader board, Morne and Rikus slips from a joint 3rd place to 7th place after their retirement, 21 points behind the leader and with 25 points for a win, anything is still possible.
A win on their home event won’t just satisfy their legions of local fans, but will place them in the cream of the leading pack.
