story by: SA Guild of Motoring Journalists 06 July 2010 Former Guild member and publisher of Motoring News International, David Eastaugh, passed away on 30 June in Johannesburg after an 18-month battle with cancer. He was 66.

David was involved with motor magazine publishing from the mid-1960s and was a former advertising executive with SA Motoring Press/Scott Publications, publishers of Motoring Mirror, SA Motor, SA Motorcycle and Modern Boating. An Australian by birth, he had a passion for motorcycles and flying. He leaves behind four children, sons Peter (39), Michael (36) and David (18) and daughter Petra (21).

The funeral service will be held at Tom Kight, corner Hull and 16th Streets, Vrededorp, Johannesburg, at 12 noon on Thursday, 8 July, and will be followed by snacks and refreshments at the Sunnyside Park Hotel at 1 pm.
