331985 JOHAN FOURIE EAGER FOR TOPGEAR OUTING

The local motorsport scene is abuzz with activity as the WesBank Super Series heads to Kwazulu Natal. The fifth round of the Bridgestone Production Car Championship will take place as part of the TopGear Festival on 16 and
17 June 2012 and Johan Fourie and his crew are looking forward to the event.

"It has been many years since we last raced on a street circuit and I am looking forward to the challenge," commented Johan. "It has been an exceptionally difficult season for us so far, but I am hoping that this will be our turning point."

The 2.1km street circuit will require superb handling and immense driver control.

"I have a great crew and despite our recent sponsorship difficulties, my team haven't given up and have put their hearts and souls into preparing the EPS Audi S4. I think that the four wheel drive will be beneficial, although the BMW F30s probably have better outright pace."

Johan did well in Durban the last time around, taking some solid points, despite the carnage that plagued the class. His experience should be advantageous as he is one of just six Class A drivers to have participated in 2007.

"There were a lot of accidents at the last Durban event, both among competitors and with concrete barriers. The key to this race is going to be finishing and doing so without touching anything or anyone."

Whatever the outcome, the Durban Street Race is sure to be one of the season's highlights and should not be missed.
